The Society ever since its inception in 1980 has held lectures, exhibitions, seminars and workshops to spread awareness about the city’s past.
It conducts the Annual Nisith Ranjan Ray Memorial Lectures and Heritage Series Lectures on various topics that involve both history of Bengal, Calcutta and preservation of the city's heritage. link to list

Recent Activities (screenings / felicitations)
8 September 2018 Screening of a documentary film "KHAWTO" (The Wound) made by Sri Bijoy Chowdhury on the demolition of a residential house in Kolkata to make way for a tower - a common scene in the city today.

17 November 2018 - Felicitating Mr. P.T.Nair, the walking encyclopaedia of Calcutta, and Mrs. Nair on the eve of their return to their native place in Kerala.
